Soul words is track 4 from the album Focal Point.

It was originally written about 5 years ago and is simply a tune questioning our ability to look at tragedies on the TV and be numb to the real live devastation that is happening in other lives.

Will we ever be judged for not caring and ignoring the needs of others? We may all have our own judgement day...
lyrics
LYRICS

You take what you can find
You know the place, the time
You bend the rules that bind
You dance to free your mind
You give what you can’t take
You won’t admit mistakes
You want what you don’t have
You smile but you can’t laugh

Why do we run when there’s nowhere to hide?
Why don’t we cry when a small child has died?
Why don’t we hurt when the pains far away?
Why can’t we hear what our souls have to say?

You play to selfish rules
You joke and play the fool
You drift your life away
You need to have your say
You’re just a stubborn man
You think you have a plan
You cannot tell what’s real
You can touch, but don’t feel

Why do we run when there’s nowhere to hide?
Why don’t we cry when a small child has died?
Why don’t we hurt when the pains far away?
Why can’t we hear what our souls have to say?
Say, say, say

You learn the golden rule
You were not shown at school
You face your inner fears
You greet your twilight years
You have some time to think
You stand upon your brink
You hear your angels sing
You didn’t change a thing

Say you got it wrong
But you’re not the only one

Why do we run when there’s nowhere to hide?
Why don’t we cry when a small child has died?
Why don’t we hurt when the pains far away?
Why can’t we hear what our souls have to say?

What’s ya soul gonna say?
